Did you ever hear the phrase, “write it down, make it happen”? Actually it is the title of a book that I read many years ago.
When you work at home sometimes you lack structure in your day. Some days I wake up and I’m not sure what to do, or lack motivation to do things I know that I should do.
I love making lists because somehow the act of writing down things I need to do causes me to actually do them. I found it helpful to make a list right before I go to sleep.
When I write a list at night it seems to put a mental sticky post in my mind that I need to do those things. I wake up with a sort of urgency to get them done.
Making lists and then being able to check off the items as you do them will also give you a sense of accomplishment.
Here’s some tips on how to make this a habit in your life.
- Get a spiral notebook and place it on the table near your bed.
- Before you go to sleep write down a list of things you would like to accomplish the next day.
- Refer to your list the next day and check off the items you have finished.
- Don’t worry if you don’t get around to all of the items. You will find that some things were not meant to be.
